Astor Home...

Celebrating a bygone era when dinner, drinks and dancing made an entertaining and inseparable threesome, Astor Bar & Grill delivers a contemporary edge to its artistic programming, fusing live performance, progressive party organisers and exceptional DJ’s, ensuring its appeal as one of the capital’s main destination venue for discerning music lovers.

Live At The Astor, a weekly celebration of live music that will feature established artists and showcase breaking talent, will commence in March 2006.

In addition to music, Astor Bar & Grill will use its ideal location and vast wall and floor space for art exhibitions, stand-up comedy and cabaret. More than just a restaurant and drinking establishment, Astor Bar & Grill is a social space that tantalises more senses than taste buds alone and is an entertainment centre that gathers the very best in the arts under one gilded roof.

Utilising its layout, and breathtaking art deco glamour, Astor Bar & Grill will be a permanent exhibition space for the best contemporary and up-and-coming talent, housing works from artists that include Grayson Perry, Damien Hirst, Peter Blake, Abigail Lane & Marc Quinn. In past months Gary Ashworth, the Creative Director at Astor Bar & Grill has teamed up with the likes of Brit Art and Eye Storm to hold a number of exhibitions, many of which combine live performance and fine art.

Furthermore, Astor Bar & Grill features a self-contained shop – Kiosk - within the venue that sells an extensive selection of cigars and also stocks audio CDs from the acts that have performed at the venue, as well as prints and postcards from art exhibitions shown alongside a range of fashion and design magazines and books.

Astor is now closed.
